Laura Watson Pianist
Recently graduated from The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, Laura is a professional pianist who is available for session work, event hire, gigs and piano tuition. Classically trained, she is able to teach up to grade 8 piano and grade 5 music theory.
About Me
I started piano lessons when I was 7 years old with an incredible tutor - she was technically brilliant, but the most important part of her lessons were that my enjoyment was always at the centre of them so I would always come out of her lessons feeling challenged but positive. Inspired by her, I began to teach beginner piano lessons in 2016 and aimed to make them informative yet fun so that my clients got the most out of their time with me. Since taking my grade 8 exam I've also taken on more advanced students and can teach up to grade 5 music theory. At the moment there are a few slots available for one-to-one lessons before you would have to join the waiting list.
Performance Career
My professional performance career as a pianist actually began in a care home when I was 14; they gave me my first ever pay cheque for playing for them and I remember thinking that earning money from doing something I loved felt like cheating! After playing for the home a few times I began to take on weddings and other events and in 2017 I joined the Encore Musicians agency to take performing more seriously. I've had a lot of incredible experiences already from the jobs I've been hired for and am excited for more opportunities in the future.
